I used to love dressing up in drag as a kid. I've had zero interest in it since reaching adulthood.

What I somewhat fear is a dystopian future where that would have resulted in my parents booking a genital inversion procedure before I even finished puberty.

Yeah, kids gotta be protected from all of this. My mom caught me wearing her shoes as a kid and I got in trouble for it, so I stopped the drag queen shit. I still ended up a tranny, so it's not like forbidding kids from doing weird gender non-conforming shit will stop actual trannies from doing something about it when they're old enough to make those kinds of decisions. I wonder if I hadn't been forbidden from it... maybe it wouldn't have developed into the weird psychosexual social thing that it did? Probably would have just ended up where I'm at a whole lot sooner, but maybe not. Who knows?

Also weird that I wore her shoes, and if that was going to lead to some weird psychosexual shit you'd think it'd be a foot fetish but have 0 interest in feet and still find foot fetishes to be entirely perplexing.

    That's precisely it.

    It's complicated stuff.

It's why I always have sympathy for anyone even questioning their own gender identity (or even sexual orientation for that matter).

Deciding on actually having the surgical procedure done is an incredibly heavy thing to have to deal with.

But (psychological) therapy, by someone specially trained to deal with this kind of scenario, should be a natural precursor to surgery. Just to make extra sure what's going on. I feel like it would become pretty apparant in quick enough time whether it's worth going through with.

    You're not the only one.

People who aren't willing to dress up as the opposite gender are just insecure in themselves. Same goes for not allowing their kids to do it. There is no harm in your son playing with Barbie's and wearing dresses, or your daughter playing with trucks and wearing uh, shorts? Oh wait. Wrong century. Women can wear shorts now. And pants. And short sleeve shirts. And shirts without sleeves. Etc.

Not even that long ago parents were intentionally dressing their sons up in dresses. There were male dresses and female dresses. This could continue till adolescence too. It was normal. Pink also used to be a boy color.

All this shit just goes to show that gender roles are fucking retarded. If it doesn't have to do with biological differences, I'm not interested. Women can wear whatever they want and so can men.

I will say that the people who DO wear whatever they want are 80% of the time fucking weirdos, but it's their right to be weirdos and it says nothing about their masculinity/femininity.

fuckin HTS has made some illuminating posts ITT. It's funny that we've watched him/her/he/she transition right before our eyes.

If HTS wanted to be my friend it would be my first tranny friend. I think I have a friend of every ethnicity I can think of, except Mexican but if I could my quarta porta ree ree BM I have that covered

A transition is a life-changing difficult to reverse process and unless we closely regulate it to keep out the crazies and the children and other irresponsible folks we're putting these groups at risk of suicide if they regret the choice later. Adolescents go through phases as we all know, and what with the internet making it trendy to be a special little trans snowflake I can see a lot of kids getting sucked into it and asking to transition without actually realizing the real life ramifications that would bring later on.

I've noticed how people use that term a lot lately, almost to give people a pass. "and what with the internet making it...", like its this higher power pushing it onto us. Its people using the internet that is doing this.

The entire point of the internet is to corrupt the youth to make them rebel harder, faster and better than we ever could.

If gender dysphoria is the cause then that should be treated in the way the person that is suffering from it would like it to be treated. My main gripe is the political aspects that surround the whole transgender thing. And while i don't mind being polite, you don't get to force me to respect your pronouns.

it's the same thing as calling someone a nigger. Yeah it's FREE SPEECH I should be able to call every black person I see a NIGGER without them getting upset!

One day trans rights will reach the point where you can make bigoted tranny jokes with your trans friends like how people of a different race can laugh together at a racist joke.

and yes I am comparing gender dysphoria to the history of slavery. Trannies are enslaved by their bodies so using their slave pronouns is like calling a black person a nigger.
