    In GTA 2 you get to grab powerups and go on kill frenzies it also has some amusing soundbytes "HE'S GOT A GUN" "GIMME YOUR WALLET"

    I loved blasting cops gta1 and fighting them while cornered,, got up to 12 FBI guys after me a few times,, they are tough to beat

    GTA 2 is my personal favorite.

    I honestly barely even played GTA 3, and never played any of the later ones.

    Vice City is probably my favorite (read: 3, but better in every conceivable way including/especially setting). San Andreas a close second.

    And of course GTA 5. I could put that in first even, with how much it has to offer. Truly a narrative tour de force that trumps any of the previous games (especially GTA3).

    I play gta online because I can play with my friend and modify cool cars.

    But I think gta 4 had a more balanced online.
