I never understood people who get emotionally invested in elections, since both main candidates are always shit. Both parties have been working hard to erode the constitution, and the constitution is what makes the U.S. unique. Of course, most people in the U.S. do not know this, because they have never lived in a place with such a powerful thing. They have no way of comparing life in the U.S. to anything else.
Once the constitution is done for, none of the shit discussed in presidential debates will matter, because there will be much bigger problems to worry about. But those overly emotionally invested in elections are usually clueless anyway, and the scale of their ideas is small. Its like a tiny mouse running around the legs of the elephant, not even knowing that its an elephant since the mouse is so tiny in comparison. The mouse never sees the big picture, never even looking up or moving away from the elephant to see it for what it is.
Over the decades the government has been consolidating power in every way possible, and this is a scary thing once you realize that a government in its essence is a monopoly on violence.
