This is a complete and exhaustive set of all possible ideologies. It is entirely objective and completely non-biased.

I don’t really do the ‘by the people, for the people’ deal. I’m more the guy that a single, ruling party brings in late-game to clean things up after all the injuries.

I dont believe in ideology. Any socioeconomic system should revolve around the wellbeing of the people, not the ideology. just one single human individual is an insanely complex creature, let alone millions living together. any popular social system of the day must adapt and be reinterpreted according to the changing situation of the human condition.

the idea that some reductionist philosophy can solve every major problem arising in this complex web of human interaction is utterly retarded, that if only we follow the purity of an ideology closely enough we will have utopia.

all this bullshit started with marx, not only is he the father of the communist utopia but of the libertarian one as well.

    reject ideology, kids. embrace reality.

Originally I wasn't going to vote myself, but it's only fair to at least pick the least unfavorable one.

I'm super curious though about which one other people on here think I am.

That would actually be kind of a fun game. Try to guess other users' positions. For some it'd be more obvious. For others, less so, especially if we had even finer grained options to choose from.

This is kinda shockingly close to how I would explain my position, especially when it comes to main stream party politics.

But the problem that remains is what to actually do to "govern the people"?

If we had no central governing authority, then all that's left is anarcho-capitalism.

People and the free market and so on simply can't be trusted enough for that to work.

There's also supposed to be "anarcho-communism", but making that work seems almost as likely as creating dry water.

It's really simple. The less workforce participation, the less prosperous we are. Also, too few people command too much of the work force. Are all those rich people actually participating in the work force? Same with all the people on disability, who wouldn't have been 50 years ago, for vague mental shit, do not count in the unemployment statistics. Therefor, workforce participation is the methodology to judge a healthy society by. And we're not it.

Under communism, not working is punishable by forced labour. Maybe that's what we need.

I feel like fascism is just a flavor of generic authoritarian ultranationalism to most these days and not transcendmental authoritarian ultranationalism faux spirituality focused on the state and the body politic.

    Unapologeticly a villain (to some)

Nationalism and socialism go hand in hand. If you care about your country, you care for the people that make it up.

First off, I used to actually say stuff like what you're saying all the time when I was in my 20s. Like almost verbatim. I saw so many people "lazing about", bums hassling me for change on my way to work, etc.

But a major shift I went through was when I later realized that the central issue is an inefficient and ineffective system that essentially renders it's citizenry either unemployed or unemployable.

There are so many unemployed people, including people on disability, that sincerely want to work.

If the system were designed more effectively, people seeking work could find it, and employers seeking labor could find what they need.

The problem is largely unrestrained capitalism leading to corporations making hiring and firing decisions with the profit / bottom line influencing every single decision.

And there are tons of other issues regarding the status quo that I could go on about, but I don't want to write an entire novel.

But the whole concept of "forcing people to work" feels like it would just result in people randomly assigned jobs. Like drawing entries out of a hat and telling people "go do that".

A truly enlightened ideology would result in all people contributing to society, but doing so in a way that is at least somewhat fulfilling.

I admit that "facism" is a pretty vague term.

I actually had a few other options I wanted to add, but there's an upper limit when making polls.

That being said, yeah, if you go with pretty much any brand of authoritarianism, someone out there is gonna see you as a villian.

Socialist ethnostates are surprisingly rare though.

Actually I was literally looking for historical examples the other day out of curiosity.

National Bolshevism is the closest real world example I could find.

To be honest, I don't know who that refers to.

If he's an anarcho-communist, then yes.

I'm incredibly skeptical of anarcho-communism actually working, but out of all the options above, it seems like it could potentially be pretty decent and fair to as many people as possible.

    But it'll never happen though.

I actually haven't voted in any federal, provincial, or municipal elections.

To be honest, Trudeau doesn't seem that terrible though.

    He's also great for memes.

I'm a radical centrist, which is why I voted for libertarian. Not because I'm a libertarian, but because making sure this meaningless internet poll was perfectly balanced is probably the most impactful my politics can possibly be.

I actually used to consider myself libertarian, and somewhat flirted with the idea of anarcho-capitalism.

(They are both incredibly similar, except that libertarianism is small government while ancap is no government at all).

The reason I gradually drifted away from those ideologies though was when I started playing them out to their inevitable conclusions.

Like, libertarianism would be entirely consistent with a future where they have cigarette vending machines in schools, or even Disney movies pushing heroin.

Ancap could potentially be even worse.

Back when I was borderline ancap, I just always struggled with the question of dealing with particularly nefarious people who simply don't care who they tread on.

You could potentially have somewhat reliable private security to uphold the law, but then how long would it take for someone to get power hungry and to just establish themselves as an authoritative ruler?

It just feels like "governments" are inevitable.

Same reason I'm skeptical about anarcho-communism ever working.

I had a bunch more options but hit the poll limit unfortunately.

    Anarcho-primitivist.
    Monarchist.
Transhumanist (digital society where we just upload our minds to a computer system).
A few different flavors of centralist.
