Even worse is the public resources devoted to it. The amount of damage that bickering did cannot be measured in cash. Sure Trump is wasting resources in order to prove himself innocent beyond doubt and prove the Biden's corrupt. The files haven't even been released to the public yet (they will be, in too many hands now).
Biden is fucked. If he cannot deny this story, he'll be out before November 4th even rolls along.

Business Insider has not independently verified the authenticity of the laptop or its contents. Soon after the New York Post's story was published, NBC News reported that the FBI is investigating whether the emails featured in the article were part of a foreign influence operation. More than 50 former US intelligence officials also signed a letter saying they believed the New York Post's story had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."

The laptop has pictures. The laptop has emails. Which are being verified with the recipients of those emails as we speak, by everyone who has a copy of the drive, as to guarantee their authenticity. Joe may be willing to lie under oath, but others may not be.

This will not simply go away after the election. He was selling influence as a VP directly to foreign companies. Using that influence to pressure a foreign government to not look into the shady business dealings going on in their own country.
