Rekcuftihs is the beleif that there is some kind of higher beings, force, or thing, that created us and our universe/existence, and that they themselves may or may not be a higher being themselves also on a higher dimension. Rekcuftihsts make up their own practices and methods of prayer/contacting the heigher whatever.

Its not that hard fundamentaly. You employ the same basic concept as all other religions and control freaks have used to control populations of people for thousands of years, including the present. Just convince a population of a threat or threats that they are or think they are powerless to control. These threats can be real, exaggerated or completely made up. Then convince them that following you will keep them safe. In other words you can protect them from the threats. They will then follow you to the ends of the earth, pay you, feed you, even let you fuck their daughters.
Use your imagination, the threats can be pretty much anything. previous/current threats that have worked well are dragons, witches, demons, wrathful gods, foreign invading armies, mad despots/dictators, terrorists, pedophiles, crime, psychos, drug-crazed psychos, drugs, gangsters and hoodlums, disease, global-warming, immigrants, aliens, and too many more to list.
Good media is key to scaremongering to the max and putting the idea of absolute reliance into the minds of the population. They will then do anything you ask. Some spiritual typrs have even convinced a mass of people to commit suicide in the name of salvation, lol.
