I need to do a small project that will take not more than 5 minutes total. i am told i will suffocate myself if i do it indoors but a few minutes shouldnt be a problem, right? i'd do this outside but i dont want my gutter rat neighbors to see that i am melding precious metals.

I doubt that propane will give you sufficient heat to melt precious metal well.

    May require oxy-acetylene.

    WTF are you doing?

i ripped out a few gems from rings and other collectables and wanna melt them into a big coin, i just place the fragments into the socket and im hoping the blowtorch will do its thing but first i have to know if i should be worried about doing it in my flat, is a few minutes enough to make me woozy or what?

Should not be a problem. Think of Thanksgiving when Grandma had the oven on for hours and all four burners going on the stove and nobody got sick. I would recommend opening 2 windows for cross ventilation. You never know if there is cadmium or such mixed in with your metal.

thanks, i will do that. kinda new to this.

i am especially interested in extracting treasure from scrap but know i will never have the expertise or equipment. its just that the only thing in abundance where i live is garbage. seeing all these plants that extract energy, fuel and gold from it is insane.

make sure you have decent ventilation and/or a mask, gold or silver shouldn't be a problem but other chemicals on them might not be good for you

oh this is from 2 weeks ago
