I want it to get back to 1950's numbers when everyone was benefiting from the government having lots of cash to spend. Trump lowered it from 35% to 21%. Let's get it back to 50% and 70% for the upper brackets of those like Bezos.

Yep. America is a very rich country. The reason its citizens live like this is due to law, not lack of resources like other countries. We could get a lot done if we simply all agree that taxing the wealthy and redistributing it was the route to take. This could find the funding and fuel the regulation for affordable healthcare, nationalized or some kind of subsidized private thing. I mean these drugs often costs cents or dollars to produce someone's prescription. Not the hundreds or thousands drugs sometimes cost.
Fucking nobody but Bernie Sanders or Andrew Yang even talked about regulating healthcare prices. America is behind decades on this. Other countries control and subsidize to make it affordable. We let them charge whatever they want for goddamn medicine and healthcare. Should be a human right.
But Republicans have somehow fooled their base into the thinking free enterprise is the same as freedom, while ignoring basic 21st century human rights. They've got people thinking low taxes are the way to go across the board. Trump didnt lower corporate tax for your benefit. He did it for the corporations. Just like how when Biden wins he'll only bring it from 21% up to 25%, which is still short of the still low 35% it was for 30+ years before Trump. -
