I was there shopping the Saturday that happened about a mile away...it was a pretty good day, the buses obviously stopped running and we had to walk 7 miles home...EVERY pub along the way was giving free drinks and food for the throngs of people walking...It took me 10hrs to walk that 7 miles home and the last 3 was really a drunken crawl.
..then they rebuilt the city to a much more attractive level than it was before the bomb...which btw again no one was killed.
Ultimately a win for Manchester and another waste of time effort by the failed IRA.
