2020-10-04 at 4:59 PM UTCFuck Minneapolis, that place was a total shithole when i visited a few times in the mid-late 2000's and it's a total shithole now. Between the gang members openly flashing signs on the street, overly aggressive security guards, having the pleasure of sharing a bus with an obvious schizo who acted like he was about to kill everyone at any moment and just a generally shit vibe im never stepping foot there again.

I was in Minnieapolis summer of 2010 doing sound and power for a weekend wine festival. We got there on a Wednesday night. In the middle of the week it had people out walking up and down the sidewalks attending various events such as comedy shows, music, thaters, and clubs. Everyone I saw was well dressed and I saw no real sketchy types. I guess it only takes 10 years to fuck a city up if that is your goal. -

Maybe you just went to a better part but i remember downtown leaving alot to be desired, if the place did have one redeeming quality for myself though it was mall of America. The theme park in it wasn't terrible and i enjoyed the roller coaster, there was also this place in there where you could sit in a fighter plane simulation and play it with other people on whatever closed network they had. Probably not around anymore but it was soo much fun. -

I remember leaving with the impression that is was nicer than most midewest cities at the time. It was the only time I was there and it was only for 4 or 5 days.
