I put down a deposit and years later I paid off the mortgage. Much sooner than I would have if my dad wasn't so generous. But it was my decision, and I'm glad I did that with the money.
You are a great example of someone who is a slave to the beast. I'm very grateful I have parents who raised me in a stable and loving environment. Maybe if I had parents like yours, I too would still be trying to win their love and admiration by trying to be "successful". Thankfully they love me as I am.

I do enjoy my ghetto house. It's nice. It was my grandparents, so I have lots of great memories here. I've also been enjoying upgrading the house since I no longer have to pay a mortgage, and I know how to work with my hands. I enjoy my 2 car garage/shop and my large front and back yards with old trees and a nice big garden in the back. I enjoy having less than half the commute many of my co-workers have. Things are going well for me and I feel content. I too am saving for retirement, but I also like to enjoy daily life while I am still relatively young - never know when you might die.
I hope you enjoy attacking strangers on the internet, cause that's what happy people do, right? If only your parents had shown you love maybe you wouldn't seem so bitter. I truly hope you find peace rabbitweed. Now fuck off.

I'm kinda sorta leftist and would never claim the mantle of "virtuous" I just see it as a better political stance given my place in the world.
If I was rich I'd want lower taxes. But I would never presume that I stand for whats just, merely the better deal given my position.
