I have a portable breathalyzer(LEO quality one not flea market bullshit) so I keep it in check. I am guilty of whipping my golf cart around under the influence though, so tempting when you live only a couple blocks away from 24/7 Wafflehouse & Wal-Mart etc.

It isnt fair to penalize those involved in traffic violations more heavily just because they happened to be under the influence at the time. Drunk drivers who are responsible and capable drivers even whilst inebriated sometimes become involved in accidents through no fault of their own and face harsh penalties such as revoked licenses and jail time even though they weren't at fault and wouldn't have crashed had it not been for irresponsible driving imposed on them by the other driver.

yeah well you're mexican so you probably drive a secondhand nissan altima with a rosary hanging from the rearview mirror and a faded memorial decal for your Tio Lopez who died in 2009 on the rear window. also you work three jobs and probably live in a 2 bedroom house with 12 other relatives and only like 7 of them speak english

Fair point. I've read on this a little bit. If any alcohol was involved, regardless of fault, its marked as an alcohol related accident and the alcohol person gets the blame.

Kinda like covid deaths and pre-existing conditions, with the big difference being that with the traffic accidents, the alcohol had nothing to do with it.

Either way, its probably always a better idea to not drive drunk, but it's also not nearly as risky as it's made out to be, relative to the risk involved in driving to begin with.

There are millions of people who drive home from bars every night and never get a DUI, and they likely drive just fine.

I bet the rate of getting into a fatal alcohol related crash per times people drive intoxicated, as a whole, is minuscule. It's just one of those things that seems so tragic when it's to blame for a fatality, but nobody gives a shit that there are way more fatal traffic accidents not involving alcohol, and that driving is a risk either way.

We drive around with drunk people every day and never even know it.

In summary, I HEAVILY ENCOURAGE drunk driving and support a mandatory MINIMUM blood alcohol content to be able to drive legally.
