It's going to be the thing now. Anytime anyone is pissed off with society or has a bad day at work, they'll take a drive and another fire appears. A dry country is basically a giant tinderbox. Only a total surveillance grid can stop it.

There have been loads of arsonists arrested, but the media is trying to keep it quiet, at least in part to prevent giving anyone ideas.

Fire is an amazing weapon, and in places like Cali you can burn the place down just by leaving magnifying-glass lenses lying around in the grass.

That's really cold. you see the videos of it, it's like Hell. like what Hollywood would portray what hell looks like. I don't even think their special FX can create the dark blood red you see it really looks like with lighter flame colors on the edge.

Those back roads wind and come to dead ends. just because you live in an area doesn't mean you know every road and how many trees come down and block the way. it's truly a fucked up way to protest.

I wonder if there should be federally mandated timber harvesting designed as fire stops that would rotate on a yearly basis on federal land. There could also be incentives for privately owned land. Not only would it help with the fire issue but also get lumber for building rather than just going up in smoke. Someone should be able to figure this out.

the area used to have much more deciduous trees, which are much less flammable. the pines have an extremely large surface area with all those tiny pine needles, so the timber industry and forest service are to blame almost as much as anyone else...

when it was just native americans rather than mentally retarded beaners and white liberals, it was hundreds of times less flammable.

the obsession with pines must end. you cannot monocrop trees like this and not expect problems
