How Trump’s taxes compare to those of other presidents (1st term taxes)
Carter $6,000 (Carter’s federal tax burden for 1976 had been zeroed out by a massive investment tax credit he earned for purchasing equipment and buildings related to his peanut farm. Carter was upset, as he told The Washington Post at the time, because
he had a “strong feeling” that wealthy people like him should pay at least some taxes. So he voluntarily paid the Treasury Department $6,000, the equivalent to 15 percent of his adjusted gross income and slightly more than the 14 percent paid by average taxpayers that year.)Reagan $165,202
HW Bush $101,382
Clinton $62,670
George W Bush $25,221
Obama $1.8 million
...................................
Trump $750

Again - if he broke a law he should be punished. If hes just following the letter of the law, then thats another conversation we should be having. Not some hail mary attempt to make him look bad.

Cant we all go back to being mad at him for having hookers piss on obamas inauguration photo or whatever?
I think the president lying for years and trying to hide his tax returns, being extremely disingenuous and owing 300 million in soon to be due loans, receiving money from foreign governments is A LITTLE BIT of a news story. You can't pretend it isn't. It's absolutely slimey but absolutely in line with what you'd expect of him. He planned to run the country like he ran his businesses and he ran them kinda shittily. The fact he paid almost no taxes is really the least important thing
It's not the end of the world. He might have done some illegal things but they're not so bad. It's definitely a story though. In terms of the "OMG TRUMP SAID/DID THIS" media, this is a pretty noteworthy story. There are quite a few things in the story that are noteworthy but it's good to see he does not have close financial ties to Deutchebank as had been reported before.

It's funny that a sitting president's hidden tax returns that expose his numerous false claims as an exceedingly successful business genius (which is often cited as a YUGE qualification for his place in the big boy chair) is looked at as a hail mary to take him down.
But that's the state of the fuckery going on today.

trudomg has only been in power for 5. I think Harper was in power for 9 but he fucking sucked. William Lion MackenZie King was in power for like 30 years but he was a fucking nutjob people were scared to let him go.
That said, Canada's electoral system is much better than the US's but the 2 term limit is definitely what is needed
