I love clean, fresh non-polluted air as much as the next guy but I always wonder about these scenarios. Are we actually making things worse?
Where does the energy to charge an electric car come from? If the electricity comes from coal or natural gas, aren't you actually just shifting to a different fossil fuel polluting in a different location? What about all of the energy required to dig up the rare elements needed for all of those electric car batteries? What about disposal of used batteries? What about infrastructure to charge all of these cars?
Let's hope they figure it out and get it right.
