I have been going to imageboards almost since the beginning.
I learned about 4chan through exhentai or some other similar site, I was on the forums and some guy thought I was too much for then so he directed me to 4chan, this was back in 2005 when 4chan was only a year and half old and the first imageboards came out a few years prior.
I really fucking miss those days, the culture was so unique then and very different, modern imageboards like 8chan and modern 4chan are a reddit esque hybrid bastardization of chan culture, even the newfags from 2008 and 2011 would look down on them.
Once I get moved and take a good look at the cost and legal work involved in running an imageboard I might start my own and try to recapture the old feeling.
Did anybody here ever go to iichan and wtfux?

I wasted ten years of my life browsing 4chan, playing videogames, and eating pizza. That website is addictive. Its basically an online Skinner Box. I don't even like anime and I didn't question my sexuality before I started browsing 4chan.

I used to like it but now I hate interacting with humans and just play video games by myself and it takes all of my willpower and energy just to play games with other people
The social internet has been around for so long that it's just become so repetitive. I have only logged onto 4chan once in 6 months yesterday because I heard Microsoft bought bethesda and I checked /v/ because it's the most honest video games news and it was stickied so I was like "cool" and closed the page, didn't even scroll down or read the comments.
Everyone that posts on 4chan is way younger than me, I have no idea what the hell these kids are talking about half the time.
This forum has only been around 5 years and I am starting to feel a similar way about this place too where I just don't care what anyone says about anything anymore and find it hard to even be interested in anything going on.

It's been so long and I've done so much alcohol and weed I can hardly remember exactly how things were.
I vaguely recall /news/ being just light hearted shit like RON PAUL, gay frogs, racist political cartoons and nigger hate ... /pol/ is NS larpers, JIDF shills, FBI, mass shooters and unironic leftists and normies asking why people are so racist and mean ... It's weird what's become of the place.
