Anybody looking forward to the Oculus Quest?
It's cool you can connect it to a PC and use it as a desktop hmd.

It's the second high end mobile hmd.
There is another mobile line called Go which is less powerful.

Also they pretty much removed the screen door effect
The leap in resolution and framerate are among Quest 2’s most meaningful improvements. Quest 2 has a per-eye resolution of 1,832 × 1,920 (3.5 megapixels) compared to the original’s 1,440 × 1,600 (2.3 megapixels). That’s a nice jump already, but there’s a bit of an extra boost because Quest 2’s LCD display has more sub-pixels—which fill in the ‘screen door effect’ even more—than Quest’s OLED display. On Quest 2, the screen door effect is basically invisible

You can use the Rift S on PC tho, I literally tried it myself a couple weeks ago.

You can even access any window open and even browse the web and shit like that.

    It's pretty awesome, tbqh.

Well I don't know about that but it does have four cameras for inside out motion and hand tracking.
You can use the cameras for AR and also as a passthrough for certain things like setting the menu background to the camera view instead of something virtual.

This is literally a mixed reality headset so expect lots of AR stuff in the near future.

You don't understand what I was saying.

Rift S is a desktop hmd, Quest is mobile which means it has built in computer hardware so you can take it anywhere.
The quest also has the ability to connect to a pc.

    Ah ok. Fair enough.

I'm still not entirely convinced it's better than something that takes advantage of the PC hardware available (always going to mean way faster CPU, GPUs and more RAM)...

But I guess if you're using VR all over town, it's worth it.

The main idea is that you can experience VR without being tethered to a desktop

The HP Reverb G2 sounds nice but I won't have a PC capable of running that for years so I'll go with Quest 2.
