He let his goons go rank with abuse of authority when he could easily have put an end to it by booting them off the staff. The way I see it, that's just as good as if he did it himself. That's not what I call treating people right.

As for Idiosyncrasy, I actually like the guy and respect a lot of things about him, but my own personal preferences, likes and respects mean jack shit when it comes to the cold hard facts, and that's all anyone should really care about. He just stood there and did nothing the entire time the closing was being grossly mishandled, member accounts were shat on, possibly useful content was whisked away for no good reason, the whole time he just sat there and watched and didn't even twitch a muscle. He didn't really care all that much about his PI, he was just being passive and apathetic and useless, like he has been for the past 7 months. Well, that's the facts of it. And whether I personally like the guy really means jack shit in light of that. He betrayed the Totse spirit in the end. Make no mistake about it. Nobody can even hope to argue that and walk away happy. -

The way I see it, the entire fiasco was a smoke screen from the get-go and we never got the real story. I also think the "terrified of my PI being revealed" story is utter bullshit. He put his PI out there in the first place because he never really cared about in the first place, and he still doesn't. Remember the fact that he threw the site up without hesitation, knowing full well PI rats infest these boards, but he never fully considered the LEO angle. I think the feds or some other LEOs made contact and "requested" IP addresses and database information, him and his compatriots shat their pants, and the rest is all the result of that. He sold us all out instead of taking a stand, just like zok did.

Besides, he had full administrative privileges and could have easily restored the entire database, complete with all posts and threads, with just a few keystrokes and a few clicks of a few buttons. He just didn't because he's a fuckup like Fang and Rocklin. Mark was also gleefully joining in and fully enjoying the bannings and deletions... another truly useless fuckup to have on any staff. -

You guys can say what you want about Idio and you guys can cry and beat against the walls like some spoiled kid and make it out to be everyone's fault but your own but in the end, it IS your fault. It's been your fault 3 times in a row. Are we gonna make it a fourth? Let's wait and see! Part of the reason why I keep coming back here is I like to sometimes watch you guys. Just watch. Idio was one of the NICEST people I've ever met. If you guys drove him away, that was YOUR doing. And you can complain about him not having thick enough skin or not protecting his PI or whatever the hell you guys want. You guys just want the most perfect and exact admin though. And if he doesn't meet your specifications in any way, you guys just toss him aside and whine non-stop until another brave soul comes to you, thinking he's got it this time. It's also pretty insulting to Idio too when you consider that he had a family and good job going. He didn't have to waste his time on you guys. He didn't have to break away from Sanctuary and put his time, money, and resources into RDFRN. But he did. For you guys. And you guys just... That just wasn't good enough I guess. And why would we do this? Well, it's because Lanny already proved himself to be a good guy before he became an admin. Unless large numbers of new users come here who don't know Lanny, it will probably stay that way. I think that is how it was with zoklet, at first he was liked, then after a few years most of the users didn't personally know zok, so he became 'the man', and an object of derision and ridicule. Fuck, IDK, maybe I am just talking out my ass.
