I bought it yesterday on Steam, 92gb download...it crapped out at about 70gb...now it wont continue/update so I have to uninstall it and try again. It says I've played it for 8hrs because I left it "updating" overnight (which as mentioned it just sat there)...so no Steam refund now either.
I think I have a 1tb download cap a month, there goes 20% of it assuming it doesn't crap about again. What a fucking farce.

But lol you have a download cap?
I think so, Comcast are twats like that. I know they used to have one a few years ago (250gb back then) and I was exceeding it every month because at the time I was downloading a shit load of movies and warez etc.
They just sent a letter back then though saying "if you exceed it 3 times in consecutive months we'll cancel your account" so I just had to be careful on the 3rd month not to exceed it.
I think these days though they might bill you for overages, I'll have to look into it I suppose.
The good news is Flight Sim kinda still ran the first time after it crapped out and it auto detected high settings for everything so once it actually gets installed it should be nice looking and very sexy, like it's new owner.

That's not the end of it either...it streams real world data while you play, actual real world weather AND air traffic! (there is a note that if you have a data cap you can disable it..but fuck that data cap).
ETA: I' sure some conspiracy nuts will point out that having the real world positioning of air traffic in a game could be exploited by terrorists somehow.

I saw some footage of it on youtube, it looks very nice.
I dunno how much a draw hyper-realism is though. I don't feel much interest in being a pilot.
Yeah it's definitely not for "gamers"...I've always been a flight sim fan though. My ex father in law was a pilot and said he'd teach me to fly for real but the divorce came before it. I wish I could have made that marriage last till I at least got my pilots license...

I ordered another 16 jiggawatts of memory off Amazon this weekend which is coming today, to maybe help this along...it defaults to high settings but it's still a little stuttery here and there, don't think it's the graphics card as that's a 2080.
