Why did you feel it necessary to abuse some call centre worker OP?

The "unprofessional" thing is a bit recockulous...should have told them "of course I'm unprofessional, I don't have a profession" .

My experiences with Capital one haven't been good either, and I have a credit score of currently 840.
A couple of years ago some twat from there called me about suspected fraudulent activity on my card and asked me for my social security number.
I said "um why do you need that"
Him "to prove it's you"
me "you just called me, to my officially logged phone number, I'm not giving you my SS number over the phone"
him "if you can't identify yourself we are going to close the card"
meanwhile I was googling the phone number and it came back as suspected fraudulent number I told him this and he got shirty...
He said "so you want me to close the card"...I said "no leave my card as it is" I haven't bought anything though on that card for months so any transactions you see are fraudulent just cancel them"
On and on back and forth for like 30 mins...in then end I said "look, I'm not going to give you my ssi number from a "cold call" when you're calling from a suspect number and being a bit of a twat. Don't cancel my card and no I haven't made any transactions" and hung up.
I got a letter about a week later from them (so it was them) apologizing for the call, I guess a supervisor reviewed it or something.
