i used to play with that game before i actually went out for my license and the instructors commented on how well i was doing, which was the result of 'practicing' on the flight sim.
the trick to making the sim work best is using multiple computers to compartmentalize different aspects of the process. ive seen videos of people using high-end computers exclusively to manage the weather process...then a separate, smaller computer for the instruments, another computer for graphics, then another computer for the flight parameters. -
