Has anyone ever broken something significant and not gone to the doctor for it? How did it work out for you? I'm pretty sure I fractured my shoulder or something about a week ago, the soreness has only gotten worse so I have to assume so. I can move it it just feels very tender. Should I make a makeshift sling at least?

Shoulder? Go to a doctor if possible. They will cause trouble anyway.

I smashed my hand like 6 months ago and flexibility won't get back to 100% but it's now at a point where impact doesn't hurt anymore and I can put weight on my wrists and grab shit.

Got some extra bone I can use for a transplant somewhere else if needed now. Win-win.

First time I broke a ring finger on my right hand the doctor broke a tongue depressor in half and cut down to size and placed one under my pinky and one under the broken finger. I'm like.. No splint? he said that was a splint.. and just taped them as one. told me to change out the tape and wash my hands every few days. it took about 6 weeks to heal but the pain was still there with numbness too for a year.

I was horse playing with my youngest who got back from Karate class and she did some in-sweep maneuver and caught the same finger and busted it again. So I said forget the doctor and did the same thing myself with a popcycle stick.. thanks goodness it happened in the summertime.

I had a couple of my ribs broken a few years back and I went to the ER and got some Vicodin. The best over the counter drug for bone support is magnesium taken with calcium

ah my bad I misread your op, I'm pretty sure I have broken my toe and didn't go to the doctor, but that's not the same thing as a shoulder. you should probably go to the doctor, your makeshift sling could mess your shoulder up even more.

I don't Ski so.. until I'm old and brittle, I don't plan on other leg or arm or shoulders.. pretty much all that's left to break at this point.
