And do you have to when you get back?
I’m seriously thinking of meeting someone in another country soon because I don’t think Thailand will be open for tourism anytime soon -

In quiet periods you can usually get good deals on hotels if you just show up around 6pm and can pay in cash, although sometimes you're better off using an booking service.
Either way you need to be willing to sleep outside too, just in case. -

For instance one time I was at accommodation, and had to book online and show the booking to the clerk to get the best rate. It didn't make sense, but he had his directions on how much apartments were each night. -
