    I dont know if this is true but 400 years ago a king threatened an intellectual with untold consequences if he didnt find a way to turn the summer inside his castle into a winter. the alchemist put a big shelf of beekers of some chemical (dry ice?) in front of a huge hand-operated wooden fan and kept spinning it until the room was freezing.
