I think it's cool how they produce everything themselves on only import raw materials like oil. Their nuclear program is entirely clandestine from mining the uranium, purifying it and enriching to weapons grade, making the rockets. Everything in America is made of things from around the world because of global capitalism. in DPRK everything, their cars, computers, guns, soft drinks, ice cream, books, cups is all made there. That's why they all have jobs and don't really see themselves as a poor nation.
They have factories just like China where they produce phones and computers because they buy all the machines from Chinese smugglers and then their best and brightest students educated for free by the government figure out how to reverse engineer everything they get from China, Russia or America.
Thats why North Korean weapons and vehicles are regarded as even worse versions of shitty mass produced cheap communist era cold war stuff. As janky as it all is, they have lots of technology and have rapidly developed their economy. They have all kinds of spies sending back stuff too and they make and sell meth through the darknet and sell explosives and weapons to terrorists.
They are badass and cool as fuck.
