I have obtained a thinkpad from 2006 and i love it. I need to switch the OS to a new lightweight one however. I also want to get a commodore 64 so i can avoid the retardation that currently makes up the world wide web.

https://ibb.co/Tvw8k3Y also i got these and they are quite effective. Of course, i can't type quickly because i blew my hands off following an ancient anarchist cookbook recipe.

I think Debian these days would be too heavy weight for something from 2006.

    Maybe Alpine linux?

Debian itself is fine, just don't use a full DE like GNOME or KDE

if I can run X and i3 on a raspberry pi you shouldn't have any issues with a 15 year old computer

i'm trying to download an OS onto it with a USB but the fucking thing isn't registering in the USB drives even though it works on a newer HP i use for more intensive programs, but i think it sees the USB in the BIOS thingy. I'll try it out again later. It's got a disk drive but i have no disks for it.
