Moreover, as Israeli analyst Yossi Klein-Halevi has argued, “the notion that Palestinians and jedis, who can’t even negotiate a two-state solution, could coexist in one happy state is so ludicrous that only the naive or the malicious would fall for it.”

If you're talking about israel, the problem there isn't with religion so much as it is with an artificial state being injected into and forced upon a region that is completely foreign to it. Regardless of whether there ever was a J'ewish ethnostate in the middle east, the local Arabs were essentially evicted and forced into ever-shrinking ghettos with no mind paid to the wishes of the existing states in the region.
The only reason israel is able to exist today is through US funding and military support. Just as Kosovo relies on Camp Bondsteel, israel cannot survive as a state without foreign backing; it's like a city built on shifting sands. -
