I had a bit of an email exchange with him about 10 years ago. One of my side hobbies in my teens and 20's was emailing famous/infamous people who are known to reply personally. The most interesting ones were Henry Rollins and Noam Chomsky. It kind of lost its charm when twitter became a big deal though.
Twitter is weird though. I only use it to post about niche interest stuff, which incidentally isn't lolis. I'd have to make an account separately for that, there's lots of weebs on twitter too. But anyway, twitter is weird, you don't really get to interact with people on any sort of intimate level. Say i looked up to person X, i'd much rather write a letter to them and receive a reply than have them 'like' my tweet. Or post a reply on Twitter. Although i guess, there was this one time i made a post about a project i was doing and the author of a book i really like replied, so that was pretty neat.
Also, i hate fucking fangirling, so i was like 'hey fancy meeting you here, this is a little off topic but i enjoyed your books, they're on my shelf actually.' It was pretty cool. Just play it cool. Lol.
