These are positive developments. China has territorial claims on practically all their neighbours, and needs to be contained.

Because they are no longer their territories. The same way (most of) Ireland is no longer the territory of the United Kingdom. Or India for that matter!

Did you see that video a few weeks back showing Green Berets openly training wit the ROC military in Taiwan?

It's only a matter of time before navy ships start docking their. "Research" USN ships already do it routinely. It's salami slicing, it will start off with a small destroyer needing an 'emergency refueling' in Kaohsiung. Establishing a precedent.

US-India relations have improved a lot recently as well. The US exports weapons to Vietnam.

When have I ever said anything about Israel?

My policy on jedis and Arabs is very simple - keep them in the middle east, murdering each other there. Not too fussed what happens.

then why do you advocate the US interferring in asian and their asiatic affairs ?

keep east asians in east asia and leave them alone.

Because if a balance of power is not maintained in Asia war would break out - including in Areas *vital* for the global supply chain.

Do you think an un-opposed invasion of Taiwan or the Senkakus would be some isolated event that you could jerk your little Indian penis off over? It would have a massive effect on the global economy and would probably involve several states starting their own nuclear weapons programs.

FYI the reason the US is saying China's claims are 'unlawful' is because they tried to push through a UN resolution stating that the islands China claims are too small to be islands and are technically rocks which do not project an EEZ. No country contesting China's claims would back it though, because most of their islands would also fall below the threshold and they'd lose fiahing/exploration/etc rights. The US tried to ram it through anyway because they don't care as long as they can use their navy to control shipping lanes there, but as far as I know the resolution failed

You should be incredibly thankful that the US is controlling those shipping lanes Aldra. Especially if I remember correctly and you're Australian.

Why? It's about time sovereignty and self-sufficiency made a comeback.

where ? now lets us assume china has supremacy over the entirety of east asian sphere just like they did back in the 16 and 17 century.

where would war broke out and against whom ?

only if the US chooses to interfere. and the only reason taiwan is being such belligerant asshole is because US is encouraging its deliquency.

china is the biggest exporter in the world. their wellbeing is deoendent on the free flow of these shipping lanes and the only reason US wants to be in this part of the world is because this part is the neck of george floyd.

"freedom of navigation" is nothing more than freedom to rest a knee on chinas neck.
