I checked your place out on google maps. Let me ask you a question, how much yard work is there in such an arid climate? Does shit pretty much take care of itself or is there a surprising amount you have to do?
I've always lived in places with fairly high rainfall. -

No mowing, no snow to shovel if course. I'm going to landscape it with rocks and such plants which thrive here. Joshua trees, cactus, many different types of shrubs. I've been doing some reading on the University of Arizona's site to try and figure out what works best around here.
But that is my 2021 project. This year I need to finish the front porch with screens and such as well as convert the 2000 Sq Ft room into basically another house completel with a kitc, bath, great room, and a second master bedroom.
But yeah, most of what you see out here is colored rocks with desert plants. Real low maintenance once you set it up. -
2020-07-13 at 4:40 AM UTCI suppose there's no lawn to mow, but I'm not sure of all those shrubs and what not constitute a fire hazard. Do you have to trim them and if so, how quickly do they grow?
I've legit never been to a proper desert. Australian outback is the closest to me. -

Things grow very slowly except for the wet month. Which i'm told is August. When it rains things bloom like mad for as long as it lasts. Life in the desert is a patient creature it seems. -
