Yesterday at 3pm. 10/10 performance. I am a cuck . I work really hard and efficiently I cant help it. I go to work basically with the mindset of wanting to get done as fast as possible so I honestly work really hard the whole time. -

Long ago in one of my many lives...I worked at a union run company...the management brought in a "time and motion" guy to check the efficiency of the workers etc.
One particularly stupid guy was making a part and the time and motion guy was watching him with his little clipboard and the guy stopped at about 2pm or so...the time and motion guy asked him why he stopped and the idiot responded
"The guys told me not to build to many and they'd kill me if I did".
Years later I was watching the movie Schindler's list and there is a similar scene in that where one of the jedis is making hinges or something while the camp boss is watching him and he makes it really quick and holds it up to the boss all proud like...the camp boss says to him "great work very quick"...to which the jedi nods and smiles...but then the camp boss (commandant whatever they call them) holds up the box the jedi has been putting his hinges and and asks "But where are there so few if you've been working for X number of hours".
They then shoot him.
This reminded me of my previously mentioned incident and how the other union workers probably wanted to shoot that idiot too.

Like if you do a shitty job at the job you didnt like to do then they wont want you to do it. Thata what my coworkers do. They suck at doing the hard work so my boss is like ok well I dont want them doing it then I'll just have Wren do it because hes good at it. Fucking whatever. Fuuuuck.

it means working as fast as possible doesn't necessarily pay off. My experience as been the slow(er) steady worker is better...long term.
Hare and the tortoise etc. The "pump and dumper" soon burns out when he figures out working faster/harder rarely results in a better situation for him...rather it usually results in management putting a bigger "workload" on him and expecting more of him than the other workers.
In short, there is "usually" little advantage in going above and beyond with most companies.
