Wallace was told about the noose. He still has not seen it. It is completely understandable that he, along with all of his co-racers who ceremoniously pushed his car to the front of the starting line At Caladega to show solidarity with him, assumed it was directed at him.

Any normal person would check the validity of such a report out BEFORE MAKING A FUCKING SHOW OUT OF IT.
