Back then absolutely nobody questioned the use of masks. Pandemics were fairly recent in people's minds. Scarlet fever hit in the late 1850's. Typhoid just 10 years prior. Yeah. People knew this shit worked.
I really don't mind though. Republicans tend to be older (with millenials leaning very largely to the left) and they also don't believe in masks, which is a great combo. Yeah yeah, the protests (RIOTS!!!!) but those tend to be the young people anyway, and they aren't as widespread as the belief that you don't need a mask.
Seriously just wear a fucking mask. Humans have known they worked since the goddamn 1300's. This was the purpose of those plague doctor masks. Sure, they thought filling the beak with herbs would purify the air you breathe, but at least they knew that breathing in the same air as those around you would lead you to get sick. -

and going by what people thought in the 1300's is kinda retarded, back then they thought putting leaches on you would cure of disease and used to burn witches. Back then in the 1300's you would of been beaten for being a nelly, keenan. -

It's called a turn of phrase, retard.
And the science of not breathing in 'bad air' in the 1300's was true, just like how they knew you had to boil water. Our ancestors were not stupid. And the science of today backs it up so I don't know how you think it's some old technique. It's like boiling water. People quarantined and used masks because there is a long history and a lot of science of it working.
SpectraL retardedly posted a study the other day thinking it proved his point. His study showed a 91% decrease in Corona transmission while wearing a mask. That is HUGE.
So tell me, was the Spanish Flu not a big deal either? 5-10 million humans dead. Not a big deal? -
