Lol yeah I have been here in the Chicago PD. Did it right out of highschool and quit less than a year in because it felt wrong.
My cousin is a cop there now and he says it hasn't changed much. I can't speak for all departments. Obviously some are better than others. But imagine saying that about your doctor. "Some have better training than others."
Nobody becomes a doctor without knowing how to heal people. Yet people become cops without knowing how to protect people. -

Not really tbh. I went through 4 months of training training and spent 3 months on the job.
In Chicago you get to be on your own after 6 months and I did not want to be around for that. They were also moving me to the west side (because of my Spanish) which was the final straw. I didn't really do anything besides provide muscle.
Their attitude was also fucking disgusting. I quit drugs thinking I was going to do something good but nope. Military wouldn't have me because of my heart condition. Police didn't care lol. -

The police do not have a legal obligation to protect you. You only think they do because enforcing the law - i.e. stopping someone from committing assault - can have that effect.
There was a case which took this all the way to the Supreme Court over a decade ago after a Colorado mother sued police when her husband violated a restraining order and murdered their children. -

Don't care what the Supreme Court says. I want police who protect. I'm already in the process of moving to a better country if it doesn't work out. -
