He's not a game tester. Game tester is an actual job that pays like shit and isn't half as fun as it sounds. You play levels over and over and over and over looking for glitches and bugs. You need an actual degree to do it because you are also in charge of finding the bugs in the code.
This is part of why open world games are almost always buggy. Too much shit to test.
The only people who get advance copies are critics. You can get second hand dev consoles but they're pretty expensive. However you still need the actual game, which you won't ever get unless you're a well known critic. Like an IGN employee or someone like Pewdiepie.
He's probably just playing a beta or some shit. -
