I only give a shit about having kids and pets in the game, which should be standard and not expansions at this point. Also 186 is still fucking ridiculous and I don't want to support their business model even with $5. And again, fuck Origin. I pirate their games just to avoid using their launcher.
I've bought a fuck ton of games on Steam though. I typically only buy games on sale as I don't care about playing the newest ones. Most recently got Assassins Creed Origins for $25 with the DLC. Had a 15 dollar gift card from all the MS rewards stuff they've done during COVID. So far I'm about 85 hours deep and I'm probably going to try and 100% the game because I'm in love with it. Controls are tight, combat is slick, and ancient Egypt is a gorgeous setting.

Nah, i'd like the full game. Not 1/5th of a game for $24.
If I pirate it I pay zero, and I get everything, plus mods. Win win.
