Say I archive my collection of files to 7zip files and split them up then burn them to bars, how long can I expect the discs to last?
This is honestly my only option at seeing as LTO drives are too expensive.

how much data? because SSDs/memory sticks will probably last significantly longer if you store them carefully

As for how much I'll use, sky is the limit.
I will be storing dozens od terabytes eventually.
Should I take the risk of splitting everything into segments for maximum use of the discs.

Why not just put it on a NAS? I think that might interest you more and then you could discuss storage that way
