2020-05-29 at 7:06 PM UTCYour world view is incorrect. I have lived in a rural area and on Saturdays walked through the outdoor farmer market on my way to work and I knew a lot of the people that sold stuff there. They were real family farmers packaging their stuff.
They even had artisan soaps. Locally produced honey and chocolates. I live in a city now and haven't been to the farmer market here but I imagine it's probably similar to what you describe.
But probably not to that extent. There are plenty of rural communities around the greater Toronto area. I guess you American city slickers don't have that luxury of farm to tableThe following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

I lived the rural life 20yrs ago, with my 6 acres, hundreds of quail, chickens, pheasants and goats...we sold pickled Quail eggs to local restaurants and businesses
...that doesn't make me a fucking artisan...lololol -

I used to live on perch since catching anything bigger was a pain in the ass sitting til night time to catch, bull frogs all parts, foxes asses eaten out, and hell leeches in my salads..it was awesome to spit out and eat over several times...more blood the better. better than any high class steak worth a dollar 98..

Most Americans are ignorant to things like that and just prefer to shop at Costco because it's cheap. That also happens here. I used to live near the US border and people would drive down there just to buy groceries because of how cheap it was even after paying for all that gas money -

Well it gets inspected here. What you are describing is a failing industry. It's not like that where I live. Everything gets inspected no matter how small. -

Didn't go to American school. English remember.
But we had a sports master Mr Dunnit (what an ironic name) that had this rule we couldn't wear anything under our shorts...before each lesson he'd line us up and have us pull the front waistband of our shorts out so he could see that we were not wearing any underpants.
He'd also watch us in the showers after sports and say things like "Come on lad! wash everywhere!"
Back in those innocent days none of us new about pedos. -
