Read some David Foster Wallace today. “Suicide as a Sort of Present”. Reading Malices posts from the beginning now. They seem to have a similar kind of hyperawareness, hypercritical nature. A kind of sneering contempt for their own minds, and an almost clinical detachment from any meaningful pleasure.
Im remembering how unkind and fed up i was at the end, and it makes me pretty fucking sad.
Every few months ill remember and google search to see if maybe anyone put up an obituary. Always nothing. Im not sure why that bothers me so much. I guess in a way his suicide was equal parts selfishness and gift. Everything being for nothing at all bothers me i guess. Everything kind of bothers me. Its sort of inconvenient.
He wouldve been a pretty decent writer in his own postmodern autism-niche.
