I never said you couldn't be a self taught gay porner...I said quite the opposite, there are VERY few things you can't teach yourself...getting academic qualifications is simply learning on someone elses terms rather than your own...and whenever you compromise yourself for others, you lose.
A self taught person is in the vast majority of cases much more "qualified" than some idiot who laid the cash down for a formal education.
A degree just says "Hey I laid the cash down". A self taugh person shows they have passion for said subject matter...as they self taught themselves...and so are more likely to be passionate about what they've learned and/or more educated on the matter (rather than the agenda the formal education has told you what you need to learn).
You know the moon landings used amateur astronomer maps right?...why? because at the time the amateur ones were more complete/accurate than the Professional (formal) astronomers moon maps. -

They think you have to be drawing constantly your entire lifetime just to know how to do it or make a career in it.
