Sony has made nothing but rectangles with a basic controller whereas Nintendo introduced pretty much every technology used in modern gaming. Also Sony's most successful console is the one that uses off the shelf parts (PS4) so it was never a factor in their success to have unnecessary stupid hardware.

The initial launch titles and games up to 2021 and early/mid 2022 will look like beefed up pc games but by the time devs get comfortable with the hardware it'll be the norm to see games as good looking as the OP demo.
Btw, it is running in real time on ps5 hardware.
I'm comforted in knowing large scale games like gta will at least look as good as the final fantasy luminous engine demo from 2011.
Platformers and games with smaller levels will look like the op video.
Just fucking imagine what the next game from quantic dream will look like.
