How old are you? I would love to hear more. My grandma died a couple years ago in her late 90s and she used to tell me about riding a carriage to school and getting running water in her village. Rural Mexico was a bit behind the times but still, it blew my mind hearing she and everyone she knew took a horse to school.
Idk why people dont let their elders talk. They have the most useful shit to say. Sometimes. -

Let's just say I'm well over 60. My description of the muscular hideous viking still holds true to me, and saved my bacon now and then, but I've been here and there, and lived a truly incredible life, that should have been cut short many times. every second to me is a gift.
I'd be honored to tell you more, and.... I would have loved to hear your grandma talk as well!.....Rural Mexico is STILL amazing, and you should be extremely proud to be from there. Your legacy of math, philosophy, and of-course building skills are second to none.
Humans of today categorize everything to make them feel comfy, but your Native American spirit lands go from Chile' South America, to Coronation Gulf, Northwest Territories. Many tribes traded with each other in times of the Anasazi, and there were far more cities and trading hubs than we'll ever truly know. They are uncovering stuff daily, all the time, and it almost constantly challenges written known history that they teach.
Most people forget that Native America is 2 giant continents. Not just "Native American Indians of the United States, and sometimes Canada", and from Mexico down, is another world. It's not. White people made it that way, and they try to take or steal those cultures for themselves, and make them cutesy and safe, and to capitalize on cash, without really seeing what that culture is all about. What a shame! You've seen this near the borders I'm sure. And then there's Taco Bell. Prime example. Fair, would have been to help the culture out that gave the owner the idea in the first place. They certainly have the money.
Thing is, is that there are hidden gems everywhere, and all those elderly folks are the real libraries that can make those gems come to life with the most richly painted experiences that can capture the mind's eyes.
Otherwise, gems are just gems. -

2020-05-16 at 9:31 AM UTCI remember when my Dad first stop dropping me off at school every morning and showed me how to take the bus...
For some reason I was super excited to be traveling on my own .. I was always known as the girl who had the “ over protective father” so I felt a sense of independence..but I also remember being kinda scared on there...lol
But I had 2 buses to take and he showed me exactly where to get on and get off and all that ...
I have a vivid memory of getting off the bus for the first time and there was my dad ..
He had been following the buses the whole time and watching to make sure I got on & off on the right stops etc...
That also reminds me of the time I got on the wrong bus and ended up at the lake front and was terrified because I was nowhere near my home 😭
Idk why those memory just popped in my head
Man I used to look fly af in my school uniform.. because I used to coordinate pink in it and still be on dress code 🤗
