16 gigs of ram is $50-$100 - about as much as a 500gig SSD.

And nowadays SSDs are a necessity, so why not get much as you can out of it?

Anyone read OP's articles? They dishonestly compared SSD to mechanical HD performance and claimed that that difference is due to PS5.

    That kinda pissed me off.

Yup, That's exactly the point of "hard drives/SSDs" versus memory. To do what twatty is suggesting would require you to have 400gb of ram...which as you know would be quite an expensive bit of kit...and EVEN THEN...when you kill the power everything in the RAM is lost.

The 885GB SSD in PS5 is clearly only good for the operating system and a few bits of data here and there...it's a recockulously small amount for storing ANY game data. It's a bit silly to release a next gen console with a smaller storage capacity than current gen consoles...I have a 1tb Xbox one and an 2tb external drive on it which is nearly all full as is with the monthly free shit xbox live throws at you.

The PS5 will need to have external storage and that is not going to be running at the speed of the "special ssd"..game data will be loaded from it at the usual rates.

Yeah this is all just marketing, nothing I haven't already seen before. Gaming is dead and consoles are holding it back because they don't want games to look better on PC or they will lost their edge for consoles. That's why graphics have looked basically the same for almost a decade with minimal improvement.

It's just a shitty launch game like Ryse son of Rome. At least the 360 had a good launch title Kameo which was an original IP made by rare. It wasn't much but it was better than these.

Well lads it looks like its time to buy a 4k projector here soon. Gonna move the 1080p one to the living room along with my soon to be old computer. Office gets a new 'puter/projector.

4k is overreacted and unnecessary although I could use it being slightly useful for a projector.
I'm fine with 1080p for displays.
Higher resolutions only make sense for vr.

I am also fine with 1080p for movies and games on my hdtv which is literally right in front of me. might even be a 60 inch.

Im currently running an Epson Home Cinema 3700 instead of a monitor for my PC, and have been for the past 3 or so years. Holding up well. Changed the bulb on it once so far, and it works well even in a well lit room. It has decently low input lag (28 ms) to the point where I can still play online games and kick ass; not that that I have a whole lot of time to play a lot, but this is still something that I can do.

I was gonna buy the same projector to add to the living room but said projector is discontinued. Now they make the Epson Home Cinema 3800, which costs about as much as my current projector was, but this new one has 4k resolution. Don't really care about the resolution beyond 1080p, I mostly just like the specs of the projector itself, which are mostly the same, but with a better contrast ratio in the newer version.

Projectors are more complex than monitors or tvs, and so more research needs to be done on my part before I decide between the Epson Home Cinema 3800 and the Epson Home Cinema 5050UB. Need to research and compare before I pay, as one costs as much as my new rig that I'll get next month, and one costs half of what the new rig costs.

I rather enjoy using a projector instead of a monitor. I hurts my eyes a lot less, although I no longer spend long nights in front of a computer like I used to when I was younger, so who knows for sure. Still nice to have a pc project over an entire wall.

p.s. benq makes some slightly cheaper projectors that I believe are made for gaming in particular; might be something to look into for some of you.
