I get your point, I got it a long, long time ago. You are saying don’t discount his intellect and ideas because he did horrible things. But I will say this again. I have NO interest in the ideas of a psychopath that hurt, murdered and maimed people. Ya’ll are welcome to. -

Where is your line then? I'm genuinely curious why you're so adamant about disregarding anything a person has to say because they've done an unrelated bad thing in their life.
You being up "hurting and killing."
I would be astonished to learn that there are some beliefs and understandings of yours that you've learned based of people that have never hurt anyone in their life. -

I’m not speaking about anybody other than ted kazynski. Give me some examples of people and I’ll tell you where I draw the line with them.
Mq, you know there’s different factors involved with different people, that’s a question I’d have to take on a case by case basis. -

Name a few people that you admire and "give credence to." -

See I’m not the kind of person to admire someone for their philosophy. I like my own ideas. I don’t admire movie stars if you can believe that, never have. I admire people in my everyday life for their actions and words.
Oh and let me add, there’s a few people on here that I admire as well. -

Well why didnt you say so? So there is no historical figure that you stem any of your beliefs off of, in any way shape or form? Wow. -

2020-05-15 at 3:58 AM UTCMq, I’m totally serious, I thought about this earlier today when this conversation started.
Jar my thoughts. Name some despicable people who may have influenced me in a positive way. -

A handful of examples have already been named in this thread, from Socrates to Albert Einstein.
I'm asking you to name some of YOUR influential people. Just name a few. Lol. It shouldn't be difficult. -

Originally posted by Technologist No, but I did admire a nun that I had as a 4th grade teacher. She had a huge affect on me. She turned me into the anally organized neat freak that I am to this day. I don’t think Sister Micalean ever hurt a soul.
But if it turned out she did hurt a soul, you'd immediately disorganize everything in your home, right ? -

Now you can think I’m ignert, but I wasn’t really into the teachings of philosophers. I pretty much forgot what I learned in school about philosophers. It wasn’t interesting to me
Now, you did jar a big thought about Einstein. I deal with the photoelectric affect every time I produce xrays. So yeah, I use his teachings pretty much daily. -

Cool beans. Just trying to find common ground and make my thought clear. I'm certainly not the best at it I just know most people never change their mind about something when the person trying to convince them to constantly calls them a retard. -
2020-05-15 at 4:37 AM UTCAs far as thought provoking conversations go I’m pretty sure it’s obvious that I mostly don’t respond to the people who call me names. Not worth my time.
I might respond if I’m shit posting, but not when I’m trying to have a good conversation. It can even get heated, but not personal and I still enjoy it. -
