yeah pretty sure that letter is just authorising emergency use of that particular brand of test kit because it hasn't been FDA certified yet. it'd be hyper irresponsible to release it on the open market if it hasn't been properly tested, which is why they need to monitor use in specific labs

It’s seriously not that bad. It’s the same way we swab for the flu, and I’ve done that many, many, times. My patients don’t like it, but they bounce right back.
I’ve been swabbed twice, and will be swabbed again tomorrow as a pre op thing. It wasn’t bad the first 2 times, I’m sure I’ll be fine tomorrow.
It’s super quick. It’s not even a pain, its just the feeling of having something stuffed down the back of your nose to your throat. An uncomfortable feeling for a brief second. At least the way I do it is quick, I pretty much know exactly how far to push it back. In, out, and done.

Did you know the leading cause of death, even over cancer and drownings and car accidents, is medical malpractice? You go in with a minor issue and you come out dead. (oxford definition of face mask: a protective mask covering the nose and mouth or nose and eyes.) Note how it doesn't mention the top of your head? Those are called full masks.
