Do you realize that the US is quickly (if not already) close to surpassing, in a few short weeks, the number of dead US soldiers from all of the dozen or so years of the Viet Nam War?
Covid19 deaths so far...55,429.
Viet Nam soldiers killed...58,220.
Those are some pretty real numbers to me. Nearly every one of the dead has friends or family members grieving in isolation. We can't even console each other any more. I've had enough, dammit!

Stl1 it sounds like you may have lost someone close to you from covid-19. If so, I’m very sorry for your loss.
Its very strange to be living through a pandemic, yet not know anyone who has had it and been hospitalized or died from it.
The only tragedy I’ve personally experienced as a result, is people not having Enough money to buy groceries or pay their bills because they didn’t qualify for unemployment
