I believe he said, (at the time- he heard promising prospects), so it was going to be "tested". What is the harm in trying anything that has possible positive results?? Hell, I'd be happy if they tested oregano, if word was- it could possibly produce a vaccine.

He did NOT say it was being tested. He was telling people to take it and that it wouldn't hurt them. He also said they were rushing testing and that it'd be done soon. Here are some exact quotes:
“What do you have to lose? Take it, it's not gonna hurt you” - march 28
“In France, they had a very good test,” he said. “But we don’t have time to go and say, ‘Gee, let’s take a couple of years and test it out, and let’s go and test with the test tubes and the laboratories.’” - march 29
Fauici was asked if it should be considered a treatment and he flat out said no
And dont forget Tucker Carlson on Fox News. "It has a 100% cure rate against the coronavirus"
April 21st the testing is done (fucking lol like a month) and most of it showing its either ineffective or harmful. Like ventilators its only used in severe cases and generally means you're already fucked. It helps mitigate symptoms but its cardiotoxic and hepatoxic and that's not something people who are sick need to be dealing with. -
