2020-04-20 at 7:43 PM UTCThe best part of law enforcement is you can be extremely sexist and raunchy to your female co workers and never get in trouble because it's a boys club locker room talk.
Because if you get triggered by that what good are you in the real streets -

Originally posted by the man who put it in my hood RCMP are kind of like the FBI but way gayer. They usually have jurisdiction in towns too small for a local police and they also do highway patrol.
In Ontario there is OPP which is provincial police. I think they do all the highway stuff here but I see them in the city sometimes too. In Alberta and BC the highways are all RCMP and they hate weed so you gotta be careful smoking ganja on the highway because they will tear your vehicle apart.
Local cops are usually more chill and just write you a ticket or seize it but nowadays since it's legal I guess you can be charged with impaired driving and it's more serious.
I think being a local police would be better because you help protect your community. There was two shootings outside my apartment last year and I'm glad the cops shot those people they were crazy.
I've never had an interaction with Toronto police despite living here for years but they seem pretty chill and mostly deal with crazy homeless retarded people and blacks
You have a realistic view of the world, you would do great as a cop.

I doubt that's how it is in the interview process or amongst the higher ups. -
2020-04-20 at 7:52 PM UTCThey just don't report that stuff because it will look bad on the department. When poundmetoo was happening a lot of stories came out about the working conditions for female law enforcement and one of them was harassed so bad she killed herself.
They are also pretty racist towards natives because native people never become city cops or RCMP. If they do they don't report any of that because they will look like a weak bitch to everyone else.
That's why there is so much tension between native peoples and RCMP when the pipeline protests were happening. They usually only become tribal police for their reserves -

The police profession attracts a lot of shitty people that is true. I met one at college while volunteering to do breath tests once outside a nightclub. He told me he was only volunteering to get a job. This guy should not have been a cop, but I bet he did.
Also natives love getting drunk and getting violent, so there is that. If you are a cop you will end up noticing.
But all the cops I have met have been fine, and I have met lots. -

2020-04-20 at 8:10 PM UTCI know this is a parody thread, but if you have to be a cop, aim for detective, homicide. Otherwise something cyber related. But regular police cyber unit would be pretty lame.

You have watched too many dumbass American crime dramas. Most homicides are totally pointless and retarded.
99% of the time you start out knowing full well who did it, your job is to find the evidence to convince the ponce judge and the full retard jury. -
2020-04-20 at 8:22 PM UTCBe an FBI Cyber Crime Task Force Special Agent, like Andre Cicero.

Not really. I like True Crime a lot, and not the Discovery ID kind either. Criminology is interesting to me and stuff like deep dives into cold cases for example with a lot of technical information like ME reports, forensic science heavy stuff such as ballistics, blood spatter analysis. Forensic psychiatry including victimology and more. -
2020-04-20 at 8:32 PM UTCAlso we don't have jury trials here.

Nope, just a judge for minor offenses, and a triumvirate of judges for major offenses. The DA is called the Officer of Justice and the defendant gets a lawyer he can afford, or one assigned by the Ministry of Justice if the defendant can't afford a proper lawyer. -

Isn't this just why the EU is fucked? We not only all have different languages and cultures, we even differ on our concepts of what something so basic as justice is. -

Yeah so fuck the EU, our supreme court can overrule guidelines set forth by the EU anyway. Because we are a sovereign nation.
