The problem is that the media tend to water down the actual scientific findings in order to appeal to the layman and make it click-baity. It’s not always necessarily that the studies contradict each other, but more like the exact parameters of each study are so specific but then the media overgeneralizes shit and makes broad claims that the actual paper didn’t say. In a lot of cases. -

Depends on the LTE class, they can gather frequency bands together to increase speeds. The base is 150mbps, most of the kit I have is 600mbps, reality is I'm lucky to get 5mbps at peak times and 50mbps in the early morning.
Sometimes I even find that switching to 3G increases my speeds over 4G - the reason is too many users are on 4G as everyone has a 4G phone and 4G broadband now. It used to work similarly back in the 3G vs 2G/EDGE days.
Right now you can get 500mbps on 5G, but that's going to vanish once a bunch of users come online.
Hate to be cynical, but no matter how good the technology the networks will always find a way to fuck it up.
