I keep trying to type 'paint' into the web browser because I have gotten so used to typing it into a search box instead of finding it through a menu. I am officially broken.

Right Click on the task bar, Go to Search, and then Click Hidden. It goes away. Easy fix.

Necessary due to how terrible they made the start menu, but I keep typing the wrong thing and launching Edge by accident.

WTF why is Microsoft allowed to bundle Edge with their OS now, when they got in trouble for bundling Internet Explorer back in the 90s.

And sometimes I click on the menu in linux and start typing, which doesn't do anything.

Well, I think you got to do to trial and error and also you need to make sure the indexing service is running. But works fine after you go through it couple of times.

Anybody can make even the shittiest version of Winblowz work perfectly for them. You just have to force customize it, delete shit, create shortcuts, create scripts, what-have-you. It takes hours, sure, but then you don't have to put up with Microsoft's idiocy. It ain't hard.

Or just use WinXP itself with a good rule-based firewall, where you can manually configure all your ports and processes access. That's what I do. Everything works super smooth and fast.
